The Chamber of Agriculture is a public corporation that sees itself as an independent service provider for agriculture, forestry, horticulture, fisheries, and rural areas in Schleswig-Holstein.

Its expertise is offered to associations and organizations in the agricultural sector for the benefit of their members, as well as to political institutions as a basis for decision-making and development processes.

Consumer protection, environmental protection, and product quality of agricultural products are of particular concern to the Chamber. Its strength lies in its broad expertise, which forms the foundation for developing holistic, effective, and sustainable solutions.

In Schleswig-Holstein, approximately 700 hectares are used for growing core and stone fruits, and an additional 900 hectares for berry fruits, with a focus on strawberries.

Efforts are made to prevent and control a variety of potential pests through targeted measures.
Prevention and control are based on legal norms (e.g. the Plant Protection Act) in combination with weather and vegetation conditions.
