The Role:
Full Time Maintenance Technician**
What you'll do:
  • Complete work orders and walk
  • through inspections
  • Ensure all buildings and building systems are operating properly
  • Perform electrical repairs such as outlets, wall switches, light fixtures and circuits
  • Perform plumbing work such as cleaning pipe clogs, replacing fittings, stopping leaks
  • Repair or replace glass, tile, cove base, fixtures, blinds, locks, doorknobs, hinges, etc.
  • Paint interior surfaces and perform carpentry work
  • Review supply and equipment inventory and place orders
  • Complete unit turnovers
  • Conduct quarterly inspections and preventive maintenance
  • Maintain grounds
  • Assist in 24hour emergency maintenance and oncall rotation

What you'll bring to VSH:


  • High school diploma or educational equivalent
  • Minimum one (1) year experience in building and grounds maintenance
  • Valid VA Driver's License, clean driving record and dependable transportation
  • Basic building maintenance/grounds maintenance tools to perform the job
  • A positive, cando attitude and willingness to learn new skills
