The Department of Thermodynamics of Actinides is seeking a doctoral candidate (m/f/d) in Geochemistry of Actinides for a three-year position starting on March 1, 202- Doctoral Candidate (m/f/d) in Geochemistry of Actinides

Job Description:

Investigating the impact of surface precipitates on the retention of actinides and fission products by mineral phases relevant for nuclear waste disposal
Characterizing changes in sorption behavior and its reversibility at the molecular level
Conducting batch sorption studies
Utilizing modern analytical methods such as surface Xray diffraction or luminescence spectroscopy
Microscopic studies using electron and atomic force microscopy

Expected Qualifications:

Completed university degree in chemistry, geochemistry, or a related field
Knowledge in the area of aqueous chemistry of metal ions, specifically actinides
