Job Description:


After completing your training, you can work as a certified nursing professional in senior care homes, home care services, day care centers, or residential care homes for people with mental and physical disabilities.

Through specialized training and further education, there are also many career paths available, such as:

  • Practical instructor
  • Residential area manager
  • Nursing service manager
  • Home manager
When does the training as a nursing specialist begin?
Annually, on September 1st.


On the following pages, you will get an overview of the training content, the requirements for an apprenticeship as a nursing specialist, and tips to make your application easier.


You bring with you:

  • You have a high school diploma or another recognized equivalent qualification.
  • Or you have a secondary school leaving certificate or another recognized equivalent qualification, along with proof of:
a) a successfully completed vocational training of at least two years,
b) a successfully completed state-regulated assistant or helper training in nursing of at least one year,
c) a successfully completed state-regulated training in nursing assistance or elderly care assistance of at least one year, started before December 31,
