Purpose of Position

Under the supervision of the Assistant Director of Resident Life for Community Operations, two Coordinators for Administrative Operations provide leadership and direction to customer service and administrative activities in six residential communities housing approximately 10,000 students.

These positions assume responsibility for selection, training, and supervision of five Assistant Coordinators who oversee 15 undergraduate Desk Operations Supervisors (DOS) and 15 Community Service Desks.

These positions assume responsibility for communication, training, implementation, and evaluation of significant unit and department events and activities such as residence hall opening, closing, check-in/check-out, room assignments, residence hall transitions, inspections, and billing.

These positions serve as the liaison between the Community Desk Services unit and the Resident Life Assignments Unit and the Department of Residential Facilities, as well as University faculty and academic administrators affiliated with the University's living-learning programs as it relates to desk services.

The Coordinators for Administrative Operations participate as members of the management team for the broader residence hall Community Staff unit along with the Associate Director and Assistant Directors for Communities, Community Directors, and Residential Case Managers.

Minimum Qualifications:


Education:


  • A bachelor's degree.

Experience:


  • Four years of fulltime experience or a master's degree and twoyears full time experience in residence hall operations or programs, conference or hotel management, or related experience required.

Preferences:


Preferences:


  • Excellent customer service experience, staff supervision, and residence hall administrative procedures strongly preferred.
  • Ability to use database management programs, Google Suites and Microsoft Office strongly desired.

  • Benefits include tuition remission, retirement programs, and health insurance. Staff are provided 22 days of annual leave, 1415 paid holidays, 15 days of sick leave and 3 days of personal leave each year.
  • Beginning salary is expected to be in the mid to high $60,000s.
  • Some telework may be available as determined by department expectations and position needs.

  • This is a 12month, live out position. Evening and weekend work on a variable basis is required. Normal office environment
  • Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negotiable amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. Light lifting and movement around campus required to attend to responsibilities at service desk locations and department duties around campus.
