Job Objective:


Under the immediate supervision of the Supervisor Materials Management and performs all duties of retrieval, cleaning, stocking and distribution of hospital equipment.


Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Decontaminates reusable equipment by use of manufactures recommendation.
  • Check printer for equipment orders and deliveries as appropriate.
  • Perform equipment rounds throughout hospital and communicate all uncompleted pending orders/deliveries to next shift to ensure continued service to nursing floors.
  • Properly clean, sanitize and perform quality check on equipment, affixing equipment tag with your name and date by use of manufacturer recommendation.
  • If all assignments are completed, communicate with Supervisor, Materials Management or designee for reassignment.
  • Maintains professional work habits by organizing workload, setting priorities, completing assignments in a timely manner, utilizing resources appropriately complying with department program standards and adapts well to changes.
  • Able to interact with patients, visitors and hospital personnel in a professional manner.
  • Picks up reusable equipment for repairs.
  • Able to relate effectively to people and situations in a stressful and fast pace environment.
  • Assist with all other items as assigned or required.
  • Supports and backs up all Central Supply staff as required.
  • Performs basic operation checks on equipment.
  • Fills reusable equipment requests and delivery.

Non-Essential Duties:


  • Coordinates minor repairs on equipment.
  • Other miscellaneous duties as required.

Education and Experience:


Education

  • High School Diploma or GED

Experience

  • Preferred experience in cleaning/sanitizing of healthcare equipment.
