Job Summary
The Direct Care Counselor (DCC) will provide guidance, supervision, mentoring and life skills training to adolescent females residing in the Therapeutic Group Home.
This position will work within a variety of settings to maintain safety, teach new skills and ensure the participation of a variety of activities to assist the individual in obtaining the highest level of independence possible.
The DCC will provide positive reinforcement for all appropriate behaviors, social interactions and learning and give effective corrective feedback as needed.
The DCC will assist with the implementation of daily activities which include behavioral programming, life skills, educational services, medical appointments and leisure/recreational activities.
This position will ensure safety for everyone in the environment by being prepared and able to implement therapeutic crisis interventions (based on individualized behavioral programs) to include hands-on physical interventions as required.
Education, Experience and Other Qualifications:
A high school diploma is required. An Associate Degree or BS/BA degree in psychology, social work, criminal justice or another human services field is preferred. At least one year of experience working with seriously emotionally disturbed youth, preferably in a residential setting, preferred. Experience working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder and/or trauma also preferred.

- Currently, our greatest need is 2nd shift. 2nd shift starts between 2:00 PM 3:00 PM and last 8 hours. Preference will be given to the applicants who can fill this need. Are you able to work 2nd shift?
