    Job Title: Lead, Systems Engineer (Model Based Systems Engineer)

    Job Location: Melbourne, FL

    Job Schedule: 9/80; 1st Shift


    Job Description:

    L3Harris Technologies is looking for a Lead Model Based Systems Engineer specializing in modeling large-scale networks to support Air Navigation Service Provider Programs and DoD networks. As a leader in Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, update, and analyze SysML models focusing on component interface modeling and systems integration.

    Essential Functions:

    • Conduct initial system analysis, define scope, analyze problems, gather and develop requirements
    • Create architecture data models, including SysML diagrams, activity diagrams, and sequence diagrams
    • Utilize UML, SysML, and UPDM modeling languages
    • Develop SysML models across all diagram types
    • Assist in customer meetings, data gathering, and site visits
    • Generate customized reports using software scripts
    • Work on SysML models for a network communication organization
    • Mentor junior modeling engineers
    • Collaborate effectively in team environments
    • Other duties as assigned

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's Degree with at least 9 years of relevant experience (or equivalent experience without a degree)
    • 5 years of experience in Model Based Systems Engineering and SysML tools like MagicDraw and IBM Rhapsody
    • Experience across SDLC phases and active DoD Top Secret clearance

    Preferred Additional Skills:

    • Knowledge of ServiceNow, cloud-based technologies like VMWare/AWS, SD-WAN, and security models
    • INCOSE Systems Engineering Professional (SEP) certification
    • Experience with software scripts in Cameo Systems Modeler
    • Good understanding of military systems architectures
    • Strong communication skills and problem-solving abilities
    • Ability to work remotely with minimal supervision
    • Experience presenting and demonstrating MBSE models to customers and stakeholders
    • Ability to perform operational and architecture analysis using SysML
    • Proficiency in all 9 SysML diagram types
    • Prior exposure to modeling tools like Innoslate and IBM's Rational product suite
    • Capability in requirements analysis for platforms and systems
