We are looking for individuals with experience in underground construction as a pipe layer, that can work at various depths, seal joints and overall clean work.


Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Lay pipes for storm and sanitation sewers, drains, and water mains.
  • Align and position pipes to prepare them for welding or sealing.
  • Check slopes for conformance to requirements, using levels or lasers.
  • Connect pipe pieces and seal joints, using welding equipment, cement, or glue.
  • Cover pipes with earth or other materials.
  • Use various hand and power tools to cut pipes to required lengths.
  • Dig trenches to desired or required depths, by hand or using trenching tools. Be able to follow safety protocols and regulations set by company, developers, and state/city.
  • Lay out pipe routes, following written instructions or blueprints, and coordinating layouts with supervisors.
  • Other duties as assigned; duties, responsibilities and activities may change at any time with or without notice.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Must have a minimum of 3 years' experience.
  • Industry related experience with an emphasis on roads, highways, and bridges.
  • Experience performing any combination of the following tasks: grade trenches or culverts, position pipe, or seal joints a plus.
  • Must be able to understand work directions and communicate effectively with job site supervisors and fellow employees.

  • Benefits package provided after 60 days includes: Medical, Dental, and Vision. A $25,000 life insurance policy is provided by the company and eligible on day one of employment. Retirement account, 401(K) eligibility after 6 months of employment.

Work Environment:


While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration.

The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.

The position regularly works in extreme conditions near moving mechanical parts and in outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity, dust, electrical/gas hazards and blood borne pathogens.


Physical Demands:


The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear.

The position lifts heavy objects up to 80 pounds by themselves, more than 80 pounds with assistance not to exceed 100 lbs.

The position walks, stands, kneels and bends for long periods of time and performs strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions.

The employee lifts, pushes, pulls or carries objects; uses abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue; and effectively jumps, sprints or throws objects.

The position requires good manual dexterity (hand, hand with arm, two hands) and multi-limb coordination. The position requires the ability to quickly move arms and legs. The employee must have excellent stamina.


Pay:
$ $28.30 per hour
