Duties:


This position is being filled under Direct Hire Authority (DHA) in accordance with Section 1109 of FY 2020 NDAA; P.L and Section 9905 of Title 5, U.S.C.

Incumbents typical work assignments may include the following:

  • Serve as a Custodial Work Inspector with the responsibility and accountability for the inspection of all phases of custodial work.
  • Perform detailed inspections of custodial work, in progress and after completion, to ensure quality, quantity, and timeliness of work.
  • Perform inspections, issues violations and permits.
  • Maintain records (computer database), the use of small appliances in office and common space throughout the building and outbuildings.
  • Document inspection findings on prescribed forms in the prescribed manner.
  • Inspection of all phases of custodial work.
  • Represent the Government in minor contract disputes.
  • Monitors the contractors personnel sign in and out logs and reports any discrepancies.

Qualifications:

You may qualify at the WG 6
level, if you fulfill the following qualification requirement:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the WG -5 grade level in the Federal service (experience may have been gained in the private sector) that demonstrates your ability to WG -6:

  • inspecting in-house and contractors custodial work; reviewing, interpreting, and documenting custodial contract specifications; managing work of others which includes cleanliness of buildings and grounds; and representing the Government in minor contract disputes as an expert with a high degree of independence.
  • Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

PASS/FAIL COURSES:

If more than 10 percent of your undergraduate course work (credit hours) were taken on a pass/fail basis, your claim of superior academic achievement must be based upon class standing or membership in an honor society.


GRADUATE EDUCATION:

One academic year of graduate education is considered to be the number of credits hours your graduate school has determined to represent one academic year of full-time study.

Such study may have been performed on a full-time or part-time basis. If you cannot obtain your graduate school's definition of one year of graduate study, 18 semester hours (or 27 quarter hours) should be considered as satisfying the requirement for one year of full-time graduate study
