    Description

    Job Summary: The Systems Effectors: Processing, Guidance & Control Center at Raytheon is seeking a Senior Principal Engineer to lead the aerodynamics team for a hypersonic missile development program. In this role, you will provide technical oversight and guidance to a team of aerodynamic engineers to meet program objectives, ensuring technical quality and timely delivery of all work products. You will collaborate with and report to program leadership and work with the Integrated Hypersonic Analysis Lead. This is an onsite role located in Tucson, AZ.

    Responsibilities:

    • Oversee and guide a team of aerodynamic engineers in all areas of work scope
    • Ensure technical, cost, and schedule execution of aerodynamic work scope
    • Collaborate with other departments and government counterparts to define priorities and approaches
    • Provide technical oversight and mentoring to team members
    • Communicate status and issues to program leadership
    • Collaborate across disciplines to ensure system effectiveness

    Basic Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM)
    • Minimum of 10 years of aerodynamics experience with flight vehicles
    • Experience with wind tunnel testing and aerodynamic model development
    • Active and transferable U.S. government issued Security Clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Master's or PhD Degree in an Engineering discipline, Computer Science, Math or Physics
    • Experience leading small teams
    • Experience with high-speed staging systems design and analysis
    • Experience with hypersonic airframe design and environments
    • Experience with verification and validation techniques
    • Experience with schedule development and Earned Value Management System (EVMS)
    • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with senior leadership and government stakeholders
    • Ability to manage multiple competing priorities
