Description

The mission of Huawei's Dresden Research Center (DRC) is to explore programming models, operating systems, and virtualization technologies on multicore heterogeneous architectures and NVM/SCM platforms. The goal is to provide a high-performance and reliable abstraction layer for efficient resource utilization. DRC's technical research focuses on Smart Mobile, Telecom, Autonomous Driving, Internet of Things, and Industry 4.0.

DRC's research and development primarily focuses on system software and map technology.

The system software research at DRC centers around Operating Systems (OS), concurrency theory, software-hardware co-design on modern hardware, and virtualization technologies. Topics of interest include microkernel and hypervisor development, formal verification of concurrent software, operating systems and modern hardware, dependability, reliability, safety and security certification, many-core scalability and performance, flexibility of operating system architectures, heterogeneous hardware, virtualization, and innovative technologies for the Linux kernel.

The Map Technology Team at DRC conducts research on Geoinformatics technologies, including but not limited to Remote Sensing, Computer Vision, GIScience, Photogrammetry, and Big Data. The team's vision is to investigate next-generation map data (2D and 3D) construction techniques, while its mission is to address challenging scientific and technical questions in building high geometric and semantic quality, high definition, multi-dimensional, and real-time datasets.

In recent years, DRC's research
