Overview:

The Communications Specialist 2 should possess a demonstrated basic understanding of the principles of communication practices and tactics and have the ability to develop written or graphic communication materials for print, electronic media, and/or Web.

Responsibilities:

Handle requests for "District Tags" and rubber stamps; create new orders; and send to Vendor and track orders.
Handle requests for stationery (business cards, letterhead, envelope) orders; create new orders; and send to Vendor and track orders.
Perform support duties and assist other Coordinators, as required.

Qualifications:

Required Skills/Attributes

Associate's degree in Political Science, Public Administration, Journalism, Writing Communications, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Three (3) to five (5) years of experience developing communication material and strategies.
Three (3) or more years of experience as a Coordinator or Analyst
Ability to prioritize work in an environment with multiple and conflicting interests.
Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision.
Competency in using a variety of computer software, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a strong knowledge of English grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
Detailoriented.
Desired Skills/Attributes
Experience in copy, print, or graphic design production is preferred.

Wage Data Per State Requirements:

The salary range for this position is $63, $79, The starting salary will be commensurate with skill, education, experience, and working environment.
