At the Erlangen location, the more than 400 employees of the Fraunhofer Institute for Integrated Systems and Device Technology IISB conduct application-oriented research and development on innovative topics in semiconductor technology and power electronics.

In the "Crystal and Wafer Metrology" group, we develop methods for the qualitative and quantitative evaluation of semiconductor crystals and wafers. We combine the capabilities of modern measuring instruments with the needs of industrial applications and develop solutions that help improve material quality and make value chains more efficient.
