    Under supervision performs specialized office work of moderate difficulty; performs related work as assigned.


    Please note:

    This is a limited appointment position that is contingent upon grant funding through the American Rescue Plan Act and is anticipated to end no later than December 31, 2024.

    Typical Duties(Illustrative Only)

    Receives, reviews, processes, and distributes confidential and sensitive documentsProcesses documents related to a misdemeanor, felony, and civil casesUpdates electronic recordsResearches records and disburses informationRecords and documents court proceedingsReceives and processes payments, fees, or bondsCompiles reports and summaries of workSchedules gathers materials and prepares agendas for various court hearingsMay issue search or fugitive warrants, and generate warrants and orders to show causeMay notify attorneys regarding continuancesComposes, formats, and types correspondence, reports, and other documentsMay answer incoming phone callsMay assist other agencies with information and explaining proceduresMay orient and train other staffMay prepare and maintain accounting and other recordsMay handle and account for cash in various amountsEssential functions of this position include but are not limited to:

    walking; sitting; lifting and carrying (1-50 lbs) of files supplies and mail; pushing/pulling carts, doors, filing cabinets (1-50 lbs); climbing stairs; working with interruptions; repetitive motion (hand, wrist, elbow, and shoulder) for telephone, typing filing, etc.; vision acuity (near and far) for writing, typing and dealing with staff and the public; hearing and speech for ordinary conversation; finger dexterity for typing, writing, filing, etcMinimum QualificationsTwo years experience in clerical work and six months of experience in a Justice Court environment; OR, any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.


    ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
    Must pass fingerprint clearance.
    The ideal candidate is someone that is organized, detail oriented, who possess good customer service and communication skills.

    Preferred Qualifications include previous court experience, previous experience working in a case management system, strong data entry skills, and the ability to work as part of a team.

    This position is non-exempt from overtime.

    • Rules and procedures of the department, including state and federal law
    • Word documents, spreadsheets, and other computer applications
    • Business English, spelling, and arithmeticSkill in:
    • The operation and maintenance of a variety of office equipment
    • Customer service
    • Researching and problem solvingAbility to:
    • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, other agencies, and the public
    • Work safely and support the culture of workplace safety
    • Follow written and verbal instructions
    • Communicate effectively verbally and in writing
    • Type and perform data entry accurately
