Trainee for Electronics Technician for Devices and Systems

The Max Planck Institute for Nuclear Physics is an institution of the Max Planck Society for the Advancement of Science. It conducts experimental and theoretical basic research in the fields of astroparticle physics and quantum dynamics with currently around 400 employees.

Starting on September 1st, 2024, we are looking for trainees for Electronics Technician for Devices and Systems.

Your tasks

During the training, you will go through the following areas:

  • Assembling and disassembling of components and adjusting parts through mechanical processing
  • Calculating and measuring electrical quantities and testing and evaluating controls and regulations for their function
  • Evaluating hazards that arise from operating electrical devices, equipment, and systems and taking appropriate safety measures
  • Selecting hardware and software components and integrating IT systems into networks
  • Co-developing solution concepts for circuits and constructive structures
  • Planning process steps while considering organizational, technological, economic, and safety aspects
  • Adapting hardware components, assembling and testing devices and systems, as well as installing and configuring device- and system-specific software
  • Selecting measurement and testing methods as well as diagnostic systems
  • Measuring, testing, and documenting electrical quantities and signals
