Description
High school diploma/GED or relevant experience preferred but not required. Work experience as a medical unit secretary or education/certification is preferred.- Possess and demonstrate good communication and customer service skills, and pleasant phone technique and etiquette.
- Ability to plan, organize and prioritize work in a multitask environment where interruptions may be frequent. Able to assess situations and readily adapt to change.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality as defined by hospital policy.
- Ability to write legibly.
- Ability to adapt to variations in scheduling (including but not limited to overtime, work schedule changes or low census).
- Assist director as needed to answer questions, locate records, assist with computer data entry, report writing, and generating reports.
- PRIMARY DUTIES:
- Acts as an assistant for the Director of Diagnostic Imaging and Director of Environmental Services, answering inquiries of a general nature from patients, visitors, other departments, nursing staff, and physicians, assisting them in a friendly and cooperative manner.
- Communicates professionally, consistently, and effectively with all team members to ensure coordination and prioritization of duties and responsibilities.
- Assist director as needed to answer questions, locate records, assist with computer data entry, report writing, and generating reports.
- Proficient with computer skills, order entry of procedures, and working with multiple departments or staff to complete tasks.
- Performs clerical duties related to the departments such as staff schedules, meeting minutes, data entry, information tracking.
- Willingness to learn new hospital system or programs in order to complete assigned tasks.
