    Job Title: Senior Health Communications Specialist - Marketing

    Job Summary:

    FedWriters is seeking an experienced Communications Specialist to support the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)'s Prevention Research Centers (PRC) Program in various promotional and communication activities, including the media campaign around the PRC's 40th anniversary in 2026. The PRCs are academic research centers in the United States that are university-based and serve a vital role within the public health system.

    Responsibilities Include:

    • Supporting the PRC's 40th Anniversary in 2026 by assisting with the launch of various 40th anniversary promotion activities and a communication campaign
    • Conducting planning and assessment activities to help inform communication strategies for the PRC Program
    • Developing an audience segmentation and channel analysis matrix to understand PRC Program audiences and the communication channels and products best suited to reach them
    • Developing a plan that outlines elements to develop the audience/channel matrix
    • Developing new or updating existing communication products for the PRC Program
    • Updating fact sheets and infographics from the previous funding cycle
    • Developing a profile on each of the 20 PRCs funded in the funding cycle
    • Identifying and compiling information on five (5) of the current/recent PRC partners
    • Developing communication products to hire to highlight PRCs' work and accomplishments
    • Developing a production schedule for topic-based communication products
    • Leading the process, development, and dissemination of the bi-monthly Prevention Research Matters (PRM) Newsletter and monthly digest for PRCs and partners
    • Developing a newsletter production calendar
    • Developing monthly social media content to promote the PRC Program and PRC projects
    • Developing a process document that outlines coordination points of contact and any processes that need to be adhered to complete the products

    Required Qualifications and Skills:

    • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field
    • 5 - 7 years of relevant experience

    Desired:

    • Master's degree in a relevant field
    • The ability to travel to occasional in-person meetings, locations TBD

    Work Setting and Environment:

    • Monday - Friday, normal working hours
    • Work is to be performed remotely
