'Located in Diamond, IL, the Theater and Philharmonie Essen (TUP) brings together the artistic disciplines of Aalto Music Theater, Aalto Ballet Essen, Essen Philharmonic, and Schauspiel Essen under one roof, making it one of the largest theater companies in Germany. The TUP also includes the internationally renowned concert hall, Philharmonie Essen. Each season, the TUP hosts over 1,000 events, attracting around 350,000 guests.

The Theater and Philharmonie Essen GmbH is seeking to fill the position of Machinist*in for the Aalto department starting on August 1, 2023.

This is a full-time, permanent position with a weekly workload of 39 hours. The employment contract is subject to the provisions of the TVöD, salary group 7.

Your responsibilities:

Programming of mechanical systems while adhering to safety regulations for assembly venues, including documentation.
Responsible operation of machinery during rehearsals and performances according to artistic requirements.
Setting up, operating, and maintaining special mechanical drives.
Regular inspection and monitoring of all systems within the scope of responsibility to ensure proper functioning.
Independent performance of inspection rounds, simple maintenance and cleaning tasks, as well as assisting with repairs and troubleshooting.
Support in the annual maintenance of the systems.
Documentation of malfunctions.
Assistance to other technical departments in the stage area.

Your qualifications:
