Posting Summary

  • Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking an Assistant Dean III. Reporting to the Assistant Dean II within the Office of Undergraduate Programs at Rutgers Business School, this position supports the school's mission and the needs of our diverse student population.
This position is responsible for and not limited to the following:

  • Provides reliable and timely academic advising to undergraduates at Rutgers Business School (RBS
  • Manages and maintains student records
  • Supports scholastic standing reviews
  • Resolves complex issues regarding graduation requirements
  • Interacts professionally and compassionately with all undergraduate students, as well as their parents/guardians
  • Establishes effective working relationships with the RBS departments and other campus partners on issues pertaining to academic policies and student advising
  • Works as an integral part of RBS Undergraduate Education, is expected to participate in universitywide and schoolwide duties and functions such as new student orientations and onboarding, commencement, graduation convocation, student engagement, recruitment and other special programs or events as assigned
  • Supports a collaborative, teamfocused, and positive work environment that is studentcentered and passionate about student success.
This position is located at 100 Rockefeller Road, Livingston Campus.

    Minimum Education and Experience
  • Master's degree with a minimum of three years of administrative or student advising in an academic setting,
    or a combination of a Bachelor's degree and five years of experience in collegelevel academic advising, student services, or a closely related field, preferably in a large university setting.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Experience assessing learning outcomes, student programming, and retention and outreach efforts.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and accurate records; and experience working with domestic and international students with a demonstrated commitment to diversity and multiculturalism.
  • A dynamic and engaging personality, excellent communication skills, personal flexibility, ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines, and experience establishing and maintaining effective working relationships in a team
