LAYERTEC GmbH is a medium-sized, family-owned company with over 400 employees. The company develops and produces high-volume, sophisticated optics for renowned laser manufacturers, as well as individual components for research institutions and universities worldwide. The production includes both fine optics manufacturing (flat surfaces, lenses, aspheres) and their coating using modern sputtering and vapor deposition processes.

We are currently looking for a new team member at our headquarters in 99441 Mellingen (Thuringia), starting immediately, in full-time (38 hours/week) or part-time (minimum 30 hours/week) as a Physicist / Physics Engineer in the field of product development*.

Your responsibilities:

Developing new products and improving existing ones
Preparation, planning, and execution of product development projects
Close collaboration with product management and development departments close to production
Development of necessary manufacturing processes and technologies
Coordination of the transition of newly developed products from prototype to serial production
Support in feasibility analysis of customer inquiries
