General Summary


The Associate Director (AD) of Commercial Analytics, Patient Insights will play an important role in delivering analytics-driven insights to the GPS team consisting of patient support specialists (PSS) and leadership.

Analysis objectives include deepening our understanding of patient/caregiver behaviors and needs, enhancing patient and HCP engagement across channels, and increasing the effectiveness of PSS activities with a focus on simplification.

Overarching technical skills involve performing advanced analytics, test and learn experimentation of new initiatives, Python coding, and developing predictive tools.


The AD of Commercial Analytics, Patient Insights will report into the Director of Commercial Analytics, Patient Insights and work closely with GPS leadership, GPS operations and business systems teams, the Vertex data science and technology teams, and offshore contractors to deliver national, regional, account, and PSS level analyses and insights.

Key Responsibilities- Translate and distill findings from advanced analytics into insights that are presented as a crystallized narrative with actionable recommendations, using techniques such as storytelling and intuitive visualizations- Write/Enhance code for workstream algorithms- Proactively run customer-centric and machine-learning analytics to uncover segments for targeting/optimizing engagement, impact of GPS initiatives (e.g., medication adherence), financial assistance and payer reimbursement trends, and refinement of omnichannel activities; present these insights as opportunities and actionable recommendations to leadership- Formulate and execute an insights generation plan that anticipates key business questions and the evolution of advanced analytics and the GPS program over the next several years- Act as the advanced analytics lead on cross-functional data flows and dashboard launches, serving as the bridge between IT and GPS to ensure both teams understand and pull through on operational and insights needs- Identify / Lead test and learn experimentation (incorporating comparators such as control groups or historical data) to pressure test new analyses and tools as well as uncover opportunities- Drive continuous improvement through exploring and linking new data sets, automating dashboards for on-demand and self-service reporting, and implementing new tools- Create and maintain a centralized metrics document containing definitions, calculations, and business rules for the purposes of documentation as well as facilitating greater data literacy across the GPS team


Skills:


  • Deep firsthand experiences with Python, statistics, data wrangling, basic machine learning (e.g., linear regression, random forest, etc.)


SQL, and A/B testing are required- Preference for prior experiences with AWS Sagemaker, R programming language, deep learning (NLP, neural networks, etc.), and Tableau- Proficiency with claims, prescription, specialty pharmacy, and other sales data sources (e.g.

, CRM)- Excellent in communicating with a range of audience types, particularly the ability to translate business questions into analytically actionable questions when partnering with non-analytical stakeholders- Excellent presentation skills:
effectively set up the business context, deliver clear "so-what's", and actively shape team discussions towards actionable next steps- Practical orientation and consultative mindset on how to leverage analytics for decision-making and impact on customer experience- Ability to assess the level of importance of requests in order to prioritize workload and deliver multiple workstreams to timelines

Education And Experience- Bachelor's Degree in relevant discipline required (e.g., computer science, business analytics, statistics, or health-related field)- 8+ years of work experience in healthcare and/or analytics, including previous experience working with patient services, specialty pharmacies, access and reimbursement teams, and/or field force teams within a pharmaceutical company- Previous experience performing cloud and data engineering, linking large data sets (including third-party data), and designing scalable and self-service solutions
