Description

The Day of Species Protection was established in 1973 by the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES).

It is celebrated every year on March 3rd to emphasize the importance of preserving biodiversity and protecting endangered species around the world.

Species protection and nature conservation have long played a significant role in the development of our lighting solutions.

This is because artificial light, which we use in our living and working environments, can have negative effects on humans, our environment, nature, and especially nocturnal animals and insects.

It is very important to us to contribute to the protection of nature with our innovative lighting solutions.

We think and develop solutions that conserve resources, save energy, and design lighting spaces in a way that minimizes impact on humans and nature:

  • Speciesspecific light colors in urban fringe areas to preserve important habitats
  • Reduction of resource usage through upcycling of existing (street) lighting
  • Use of LED technology: saving energy, reducing CO2 emissions, and producing less electronic waste due to longer lifespan
  • High efficiency and low temperature at the luminaire housing to prevent insects from being burned
  • Consistent glare control of our luminaires, so that light is only where it is truly needed
  • Effective lighting planning and special lens technology for asymmetrical and targeted light direction to avoid disturbing light emissions.
