Media and Information Services Specialist / Library Assistant (m/f/d) at Slippery Rock University

Slippery Rock University is currently seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Media and Information Services Specialist / Library Assistant (m/f/d).

This position is available at our campus in Potsdam, Germany and is a full-time, 3-year apprenticeship with a weekly workload of 40 hours (100%).

The successful candidate will receive a competitive salary according to the TVA-L BBiG collective agreement.

Responsibilities:

The main tasks of this position include acquiring, cataloging, providing access to, and maintaining media and information, as well as assisting and advising library customers.

The University Library Potsdam is the largest academic library in Brandenburg and an ideal training location.

Tasks include processing loans, registering users, organizing media, and maintaining shelves.

In the field of information services, you will interact with various user groups and answer inquiries using a variety of information resources such as catalogs, databases, and the internet.

In the media processing department, you will learn about the necessary tasks to acquire and prepare media for loan to users.
