The German Railway is one of the most diverse employers in Germany.

Every year, we are looking for over 5,000 apprentices in 50 different professions who want to grow and improve with us.

We are currently seeking candidates for a 3-year apprenticeship as a Track Builder / Civil Engineering Specialist for DB InfraGO AG at our locations in Hamburg, Lüneburg, Seevetal, or Uelzen.

The vocational school (BBS 08) and the training workshop are also located in Hamburg.

What to expect in your apprenticeship:

  • You will work with your team on construction sites, maintaining our railway tracks.
  • Together, you will lay tracks and switches, inspect our rails for any issues, and replace damaged parts.
  • You will also renew the stones and gravel layers under the tracks, with the help of modern machinery.
  • Your attention to detail will ensure a smooth train ride for passengers, as you carefully follow precise measurements.
  • After your apprenticeship, you will be an essential part of the team, responsible for ensuring the safe and smooth transportation of passengers to their destinations.

Your profile:

  • You have (or will soon have) successfully completed your education.
  • You prefer working outdoors rather than in an office.
  • You are dedicated and reliable.
  • You enjoy working in a team and are willing to lend a hand.
  • Different work locations, schedules, and night shifts are a welcome change for you.
