- Provides management with financial information by researching and analyzing accounts
- Supports the CFO and Controller in carrying out the responsibilities of the materials portion of business
- Participates in financial statement preparation and analysis, budget and variance issues and forecasting
- Identifies solutions to discrepancies in financial records
- Prepares monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial reports
- Reviewing processes and controlling costs to ensure efficient operations in a manufacturing environment
- Proven track record of successful inventory management and supply chain coordination
- Responsible for review and filing of tax returns/payments, including but not limited to personal, secured property, sales and use tax and diesel tax
- Assists financial managers with budgeting
- Supervision of materials accounting staff
- Good leadership and communication skills and deep knowledge about the financial aspects of a company
- Works with the accounting team to create internal controls and policies
- Ensures all accounting practices are in compliance with legal guidelines and established accounting principles
- Other duties as assigned
- Expert knowledge of accounting and financial principles, regulations and best practices
- Complete understanding of GAAP in a manufacturing environment
- Excellent understanding of governmental guidelines, tax laws that affect the company
- Display a high level of organization and prioritization for tasks at hand
- Demonstrates flexibility to effectively deal with changing priorities and timelines through analytical problem solving
- Proven time management and follow-through skills with the ability to work on multiple tasks with tight deadlines
- Ability to work both independently and in a collaborative team-oriented environment
- Responsible to enhance and design reports that meet analysis for operations
- Display superior written and oral communication skills and effective listening skills
- Maintain a tactful, mature and professional demeanor with well-developed interpersonal skills, including the ability to work with diverse personnel
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or a related field or equivalent experience
- 7+ years of progressive accounting experience with a strong knowledge of manufacturing accounting
- Supervisory Experience
- CPA or CMA a plus
- High Volume environment
- Experience with Power BI and Vena Budgeting/Forecasting a plus
- Experience Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams
- Works normal business hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday most of the time.
- Extends working hours into evenings and weekends during seasonal busy times.
- Spends time in a climate controlled office setting looking a computer screens and keyboarding.
- Attends budget meetings and other financial meetings on a regular basis.
