SLOT TECHNICIAN

SUMMARY:


The Slot Technician is responsible for providing quality service to customers in the casino, responding to technical service calls, and providing technical assistance by resolving issues that arise within the operation.

This position will work under immediate supervision, and relies on the ability to provide friendly courteous service, a sense of urgency and good judgment to perform the functions of the job.

Ensures the break-down, relocation and set-up of machines and other equipment are completed according to gaming regulations, internal policies and procedures.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


These functions are intended as a general illustration of the work performed in this job classification and are not all inclusive for this position.


  • Responsible for the repair, overhaul, and proper preventative maintenance of all gaming machines in accordance with all applicable policies, procedures and gaming regulations.
  • Promotes positive customer relations through prompt, courteous and efficient service.
  • Troubleshoots, replaces, or repairs components (such as touch screens, bill acceptors, buttons, player tracking displays, card readers, etc.). Collaborates with Slot Senior and/or Lead Technicians to ensure accurate tracking of games needing more advanced repairs.
  • Works closely with Senior Slot Technician and Lead Technicians to repair games that are in a state of inoperability, in order to bring them back into service.
  • May be assigned to specialized tasks such as, but not limited to installing or removing slot machines or performing preventative maintenance which works to restore and maintain aging gaming machines to prevent downtime and maintain profitability.
  • This position is also responsible for training new and current team members as designated.
  • Maintains work area by picking up and throwing away trash, pushing in chairs and looking for machine errors on gaming machines, whether they are vacant or being played.
  • Gains and maintains detailed knowledge of games offered at the casino.
  • Immediately reports any and all unusual incidents or circumstances to Slot Management (i.e. suspicious activity, machine malfunctions, gaming payout disputes, unusual or altered tickets, problem patrons, customer concerns, problems regarding other employees, counterfeit bills, etc.).
  • Knowledge and compliance with all applicable gaming regulations as well as the Company's internal controls, policies and procedures.
  • Assists in verifying jackpots and/or machine integrity when jackpots occur and at other times as requested.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Certification in Electronics or Networking is preferred.
  • Previous experience as a Slot Technician is preferred.
  • Basic electrical and mechanical skills are preferred.
  • Must be able to speak and write in English for required communication.
  • Must be able to troubleshoot gaming machine errors.
  • Must be able to pass periodic technical examinations to determine abilities/skill levels.
  • Must be able to use a variety of hand tools and measuring devices.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with Team Members, Management and vendors.
  • Must be able to establish priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Must be able to exercise initiative, sound judgment, logic and problem solving skills
  • Must be willing to work any schedule, as we are a 24 hour, 7 days a week operation.
