  • We RequireMust be at least 16 years old

  • Experience filing alphabetically
  • Job ContributionsSort, shelve, and file various library materials accurately according to the library classification system
  • Read shelves for accuracy, re shelve misplaced items, and shift materials as assigned
  • Unpack/pack boxes of books and other library materials
  • Maintain appearance of work and public areas
  • Locate and retrieve library materials from public and non public areas for library staff or library users
  • Check in library materials using the computerized library system and push carts loaded heavily with books
  • Answer directional questions and refer customers to appropriate staff members for assistance
  • Provide exceptional customer service to internal and external customers using the Library District's Great Expectations customer service model
  • Working ConditionsLibrary environment with a varied schedule, requiring evening and weekend availability
  • Ability to cover shifts at nearby libraries
  • Ability to push, stand, bend, stoop, and kneel for extended periods
  • Ability to lift 20 pounds floor to waist; lift 10 pounds waist to shoulder, lift 5 pounds shoulder to overhead, carry 15 pounds a distance of 50 feet, and push/pull up to 50 pounds a distance of 100 feet
Selection ProcedureMust pass a pre-employment background and/or fingerprint investigation as required by statute or policy, including drug and alcohol testing requirements for positions designated as safety-sensitive
