Position Description
Maintains construction project records and processes related paperwork; reviews and modifies contract documents to reflect changes to original agreement; monitors records to verify compliance with state and federal laws and determines payments due contractor for work completed.
Essential Duties:
- May attend preconstruction meetings to instruct contractor's bookkeeper on recordkeeping procedures.
- Keeps equipment mileage and service records and schedules equipment repairs.
- Monitors contractors' compliance with federal requirements related to Equal Employment Opportunity and wages.
- Monitors onthejob training program and Disadvantaged Business Enterprise and Small Business Enterprise programs; submits required monthly reports.
- Prepares and submits monthly and final estimates; checks calculations against work log and estimate form to verify work is completed before payment is made.
- Prepares and types correspondence, reports and supporting documents; files, orders supplies and equipment
- Sets up field record books for each construction project within assigned area.
- Processes change orders, supplemental agreements, and extra work orders.
- May serve as a lead worker or project leader.
- Performs other job responsibilities as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
High School Grad or Equivalent in general education.
Experience:
Construction Recordkeeper I:
NONE
- Construction Recordkeeper II: 1 years recordkeeping, bookkeeping, or other related experience. (Experience can be satisfied by fulltime or prorated parttime equivalent)._
- Construction Recordkeeper
III:
2 years record-keeping, bookkeeping, or other related experience. (Experience can be satisfied by fulltime or prorated parttime equivalent)._
- Related college education or relevant technical training may be substituted for experience on a year per year basis._ Substitutions for Minimum Qualifications
Licenses and Certifications:
Valid driver's license. This position requires driving a state vehicle

- Preparing and maintaining confidential and sensitive records, files and reports
- Communicate effectively
- Governmental policies and procedures
- Contract development and oversight
- DBE, HUB, SBE
- Performing calculations using algebra, trigonometry and geometry
- Using standard office equipment
- Maintaining a safe working relationship
- Communicating technical information effectively
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
- Sedentary work: Lift up to 10 lbs at a time and occasionally carry files/small tools
- Light work: Lift up to 20 lbs at a time and frequently lift or carry objects up to 10 lbs
