Description
Position:
Provide protection and security for library patrons and staff. Responsible for maintaining a peaceful, orderly and positive atmosphere that supports curiosity and inspiration for all library users.
Strong understanding of equity, diversity and inclusion and skill at de-escalating incidents is critical Must demonstrate a track record of sound-judgement as this position works independently and may be responsible for nightly closure.
Hours:
Vary, maximum of 17 hours per week. Hours include 2 evenings per week, 2 Saturday per month, and special events when needed. This is a year-round position. Flexibility is a plus.
Previous security or law enforcement experience is preferred.
Salary:
$20.73/hour plus benefits package. Eligible for Union membership in NYSUT Staff Association. This is not a civil service position.
