The city of Landshut is currently seeking, subject to the approval of the government of Lower Bavaria for the city's budget, a Deputy Head of Department (m/f/d) for the Department of Childcare at the earliest possible date.

This is a full-time position, classified in the pay scale group EG 11 TVöD or A 12 BayBesG.

The main responsibilities of this position include close collaboration with the department head, department and facility managers, as well as the department head and other departments


Key tasks include:

  • Supporting and collaborating with the department head in all relevant areas of the department
  • Participation in personnel planning, recruitment and development
  • Involvement in budget planning and management
  • Quality development and controlling
  • Preparation of professional proposals for the department head and the Youth Welfare Committee
  • Participation in the management of demandoriented childcare, especially in regards to schoolage care
  • Representation of the department head in regional and supraregional working groups/committees
  • Support of department managers in crossdepartmental tasks

Your profile:

  • Qualification for the higher nontechnical administrative service (qualification level 3) specialized career in administration and finance
- or completion of training as a public administration specialist
  • BL II


This position requires a high level of leadership competence, including organizational and pedagogical skills, as well as teamwork, negotiation, decision-making, communication, authority, and conflict management.

The role also has
