Description
My wife and I have an 8-year-old Bichon Maltese who we have had since he was a puppy. He has always had a somewhat antisocial behavior towards other dogs. However, he gets along well with people and we have never had any issues with him. He is generally wary of new things, but usually adapts well to changes. However, this time something unprecedented has happened and we don't know how to handle it to make it work.

We wanted to adopt a new puppy to be a part of our family and to help our senior dog, Harry, overcome his fear.

The first 24 hours have been quite chaotic.

We followed guides and books we had read before our last adoption, so we decided to introduce them in a neutral area outside of our home.

Our senior dog approached the puppy with curiosity and barked at him briefly, they interacted a bit, took a walk, and finally arrived home.

There, we let the senior dog enter calmly and then allowed the puppy to come in. We prepared the house, closing unnecessary rooms to limit the space a bit.

The first night went well, but the next day, when the puppy had more energy, he wanted to play with the senior dog.

However, every time he approached, the senior dog would bark and limit his space. The alarming thing is the intensity with which he shows it. If the little dog does nothing to make the senior dog alert, he is calm and they often sleep
