Description

Under the general direction of the Director Radiology, the Manager Radiology leads and manages the technical and administrative functions of the various sections within the Radiology Department including accuracy and quality of all aspects of testing, management of staff, policy/procedure manuals, radiology certifications, organization of outreach programs, and contract development.

In addition, the Radiology Manager assumes responsibility for the Radiology Department in the absence of the Radiology Director.


Duties and Responsibilities:

Employee Supervision*
  • Supervises and monitors the accuracy and quality of all results for the Radiology Department
  • Oversees the orientation and training of new employees
  • Ensure completion of annual competencies.
  • Oversees all inservice meetings for the Radiology Department
  • Oversees the radiology certification from applicable licensing/inspecting agencies
  • Responsible for management of outreach programs or offsite locations
  • Responsible for the general scheduling of Radiology staffing

Equipment Monitoring*

  • Responsible for all radiology equipment as designated
  • Assures that general maintenance and preventive maintenance on all instrumentation is routinely performed

Procedures and Regulations*
  • Evaluates new tests and procedures for the Radiology department
  • Responsible for the policy/procedure manuals for the Radiology department
  • Oversees contracts involving the Radiology department
  • Conforms with Medicare compliance guidelines in the performance of job responsibilities to prevent fraud and abuse

Non-Essential Duties:


  • Performs work as needed in the Radiology Department during high volume, emergency or short staffed situations
  • Performs inventory and orders supplies for the Radiology Department
  • Schedules the Radiology Department staff and coverage for absences as needed
  • Adds support to other Radiology Department staff as needed

  • Demonstrated knowledge of departmental and hospital policies and procedures that support the provision of service
  • Demonstrated knowledge in identifying and selecting new staff and evaluating staff performance
  • Demonstrated knowledge of laws, regulations and technical standards
  • Demonstrates knowledge regarding special needs and behaviors of age specific groups and proficiency in these areas

Education and Experience:


Education

  • Graduate from an Accredited Radiological Technology Program, certified by the State of California, that will satisfy the requirements for a Certified Radiologic Technologist License issued by the State of California Department of Public Health
  • Associate Degree in related field required
  • Bachelor Degree in related field preferred
  • Multiple ARRT modality certificates are preferred

Experience

  • Minimum of four years of general radiology expe
