We are currently seeking a Technical Director (m/f/d) for the upcoming season to lead the technical department of a two-part theater.

We are a one hundred percent subsidiary of the city of Frankfurt am Main, with the mission of promoting and supporting art and culture.

We are one of the few multi-genre theaters (opera and drama) and the largest municipal cultural institution for dramatic arts in Germany.

As a repertoire theater, we offer a daily changing program of productions.

We have two of the largest national stages and another large performance venue (scene area), as well as several smaller performance spaces, and we bring approximately 700 performances to the stage each year.

Your responsibilities:
Overall management of the technical departments and workshops with personnel responsibility for over 300 employees Ensuring a smooth technical rehearsal and performance process, as well as responsibility for safety during performances, safe technical operations, and fire prevention Preparation and supervision of upcoming new construction, as well as planning for an interim period Collaboration with two independent artistic directors Close collaboration and constant communication with a team of experienced and skilled Technical Directors Understanding the artistic requirements of new stage designs and moderating the financial and technical requirements within given budgets Medium- to long-term planning for opera operations and short- to medium-term planning for drama operations Your qualifications: Completed degree in theater or event technology or a comparable degree
