Description

The Youth Welfare Office of the state capital Stuttgart, in cooperation with the Catholic School for Youth and Residential Care, is offering training positions for the practice-integrated training program for youth and residential care workers starting in September 2024.

The Department of Educational Assistance in the Youth Welfare Office is the largest provider of child and youth welfare services, offering both outpatient and residential services.

The residential services are provided in group homes.

These homes serve as temporary, supplementary or substitute care for children and adolescents aged approximately 2 to 21 years who are unable to stay with their families due to family problems and individual conflicts.

In the emergency care area, children aged 0 to 14 years and adolescents up to 18 years can be taken into custody if their parents suddenly become unavailable, they need protection from violence or abuse, or if there are other serious crises.

Requirements:

At least a secondary school leaving certificate and a one-year pre-internship in the form of practical work in a social institution.

This also includes voluntary social service or a voluntary year in social work in relevant placements, as long as they were completed under the supervision of a qualified professional and no more than five years ago.

The pre-internship can be shortened to 6 weeks if one of the following conditions is met: * High school diploma * Relevant vocational qualification * At least three years of experience as a foster parent * At least two years of experience as a childminder in a family household.
