- Oversee and be present in the clinic during all clinic session.
- Responsible for handling all medical emergencies that arise during clinic hours.
- Prescribe proper medication as the need arises.
- Administer local anesthesia when appropriate.
- Answer questions from both students and patients.
- Serve as authority to dental hygiene faculty/staff regarding dental matters.
- Identify treatments for those patients that are medically compromised.
- Identify pathologies and make appropriate referral—medical and/or dental.
- Refer patients for follow up treatment.
- Prescribe pit and fissure sealants as needed.
- Identify and evaluate any lesion, anomaly or deviation from the normal.
- Review radiographs and make a subsequent diagnosis based on the review.
- Review health histories of the patients and make referrals to a physician as necessary.
- Evaluate students as they provide patient care—through each process and end result.
- Provide consulting services to patients to suggest and review treatment plans.
- Minimum of five years experience as a dentist
- Must have appropriate state license
- Prefer prior experience in the Education industry
