Apprenticeship as a cook


Do you enjoy cooking for your family or friends and love preparing dishes? Do you have a refined sense of taste, are creative, skilled, and resilient? Are you reliable and enjoy working in a team? Then an apprenticeship as a cook might be just right for you.

In the apprenticeship as a cook, you are not only responsible for the preparation and presentation of dishes. You also plan menus, create meal plans, receive deliveries, and monitor inventory. During your apprenticeship, you will also learn about different stations, such as the saucier, and can specialize later on. If you decide to become a cook, you will undergo a 3-year apprenticeship.

These tasks await you


  • Preparation of various dishes (meat, offal, game, fish, egg dishes, curd, dessert, sweets, marinades, etc.) while considering the recipe, nutrition, and cost-effectiveness
  • Disassembling and filleting meat and fish
  • Plating various dishes
  • Creating meal plans
  • Learning about hygiene and food law regulations
  • Knowledge of food chemistry
  • Receiving deliveries, storing goods, and monitoring inventory
