This includes developing innovative, high-quality products and efficient development processes. We are currently working on vehicles that will ensure Mercedes-Benz's technological leadership in the future.

**Your tasks / These challenges await you: - Researching new cell chemistries and architectures and their impact on cell performance

  • Building various types of lithiumion cells, including preparing slurry and coating electrodes
  • Conducting cell cycling, teardowns, and material characterization
  • Conceptualizing, designing, modifying, or building new measurement equipment
  • Simulating and replicating automotivescale battery pack conditions on individual cells in the laboratory
  • Producing peerreviewed publications and presenting results to a wide audience
The requirement for this position is supervision of the PhD project by a university professor. The PhD student is responsible for choosing their own supervisor.


Qualifications:

**Ideally, you will have the following qualifications for this job: - Completed university studies in chemistry, physics, electrical/mechanical engineering, or a related field

  • Knowledge and practical experience in electrochemistry and lithiumion batteries
  • Highly motivated and enjoy both theoretical
