Tuknik Government Services, a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking a Mainframe Master Scheduling Coordinator to support
TGS and our government customer in Baltimore, MD.

Shift:
Thursday to Monday from 4pm to 1230am


Essential Functions, Responsibilities & Duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Monitor batch production scheduling environments via multi-distributed platforms.
  • Process batch production job requests via multidistributed platforms
  • Make periodic test runs; implement operational procedures; edit and prepare JCL and process jobs for one or more computer systems.
  • Establish job streams for special request production jobs based on user requirements.
  • Review production performance data and monitor job stream performance.
  • Direct workload assignments to the specified computer system and appropriate staff and assure that workloads are completed.
  • Monitor and operate computer hardware and peripheral equipment; process and maintain software release system production requests.
  • Monitor batch backup and disaster recovery processes.
  • Maintain electronic production requests and forward requests to the appropriate branch staff; maintain a log for requests.
  • Assist in analyzing trouble situations; provide technical support to user; perform restart and recovery routines, as necessary.
  • Investigate and take corrective action for operational problems.
  • Review batch job documentation for outdated information routinely and when notified that the documentation may be out of date; notify the relevant points of contact to update accordingly through the lifecycle.

Work Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Respond to and diagnoses problems through interaction with users and determine problem recognition, research, isolation, and resolution steps.
  • Computer operations experience in a mainframe operating systems software environment utilizing IBM Time Sharing Option (TSO) and IBM Interactive System Productivity Suite (ISPF).
Experience is needed with some or all the following software packages:
z/OS 1.4(or higher), MVS/ESA-OS/390, JES3 V4, ISPF, CICS, OPS/MVS II, JCL, DB2, TCP/IP

  • Scheduling Software including but not limited to Control-M and Control-M Enterprise Manager; data exchange products including but not limited to Managed File Transfer, Cyber Fusion, and Connect: Direct.

Education/Experience:


  • High School Diploma and/or related advanced training and certifications such as A+ Certification.
  • At least 4 years of experience in providing related IT support.
  • Must be ability to obtain a client sponsored HSPD12 Suitability

Working Environment & Conditions
This job operates in a professional office environment and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.


This position is primarily indoors, consistent with a standard office position and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate.

The incumbent is required to stand, walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear.

The workload may require the incumbent to sit for extended periods of time. The incumbent must be able to read, do simple math calculations and withstand moderate amounts of stress.

The incumbent must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs.

Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
