Job Summary:


We are currently looking for a Costume Assistant Have you ever pictured yourself providing specialized costume services for entertainment offerings at The Walt Disney World Resort and Disney Cruise Line? This role will make on-the-spot decisions to support the running of our shows, such as costume repair or deliveries.

Additionally, the Costume Assistant will assist the Costumers with setting up and attending fittings

You will report to the Costumers.


The pay rate for this role in Florida is $17.00 per hour.

Responsibilities:


  • Tag, dye, airbrush, and perform shoe repair
  • Basic hand sewing, wash, press, repair, and set up costume lines for shows
  • Operate special laundry care equipment (steamers, industrial steam irons, etc.)
  • Pack costumes for shipment and fill out paperwork for tracking and inventory
  • Pickup and delivery of show costumes for repairs, alterations, assist with fittings
  • Partner with Costumers to set up and assemble wardrobe and accessories for fitting
  • Compose alteration tickets and dressing performers
  • Compile swatch cards
  • Inventory costumes, supplies, and fabric
  • Additional Personal Protective Equipment (apron, face shields, goggles, refillable hand sanitizers, etc.) may be required
  • Cast Members may be required to handle various chemicals and supplies

Basic Qualifications:


  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must have and maintain a valid U.S. Driver's License
  • One (1) year of experience in a Costume Department or two (2) years of related experience
  • Proficient experience with costume craft work to include repairs, painting, and embellishing
  • Willing to drive a company vehicle including an automatic transmission box truck
  • Willing to work with and around costumes made of natural and/or synthetic materials such as fur, latex, and mylar
  • Knowledge of various têxtiles
  • Flexible with work schedule, including overtime, weekends, and holidays

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Costuming experience in a theatrical or themed entertainment capacity
  • Experience with quick costume fixes to include hand sewing, button repairs, zippers, gluing, mending, and more

Additional Information:

SCHEDULE AVAILABILTY**Our Theme Parks and Resort Hotels operate 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and some shifts may start as early as 5:00am while some may end as late as 3:00am, 4:00am or 5:00am.

Please note that the principles of seniority are used to schedule all roles.
