Posting Summary

  • Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow for the Department of Microbiology, Biochemistry and Molecular Genetics within the New Jersey Medical School. Our goal is to characterize putative ERshaping proteins of Plasmodium, their functions in the parasite's cell biology and their effect on parasite virulence. Among the key duties of this position are the following:

  • Perform scientific research (protein purification, biochemistry, enzymatic assays, tissue culture, cell biology, light and fluorescence microscopy, molecular biology, rodent handling, mosquito dissection) under the PI's guidance.
  • Communicates regularly with the P.I.
  • Maintains detailed and accurate experimental records.
  • Participates and presents in journal clubs, seminars, and conferences.
  • Reads current scientific and technical literature relevant to the laboratory's mission.
