Have you done surgery scheduling in the past? If so, then join our team RiverPointe Surgery Center is hiring a Surgical Scheduler.

What You Will Do:
Coordinate OR surgery schedules to maximize efficient use of operating rooms, equipment, and staff. This position will be Monday-Friday, 8:30AM-5:00PM.


Responsibilities:

• Work with physician offices to gather information needed to schedule surgeries consistent with department guidelines and accommodating physicians' requests and patients' needs
• Assign operating suites and equipment and block times to maximize efficient use of resources
• Answer a highvolume of calls in a professional and efficient manner
• May reschedule surgeries as needed to accommodate emergencies or other unanticipated events
• Interacts appropriately and effectively with all patients/others regardless of age or ethnic background
• Cross trained to fill in and perform all other job duties as appropriate
• Ability to work in a selfdirected environment with little supervision
• Professional written/verbal communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to identify critical issues and exercise independent judgment
• Demonstrated detail orientation with the ability to analyze, problem solve organize and manage multiple priorities
• Excellent follow up skills a must
• Critical thinking skills

Qualifications:

• 1+ years prior surgical scheduling experience preferred
• High school diploma or equivalent. Medical Assistant (MA) or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) preferred.
• Must be a team player and willing to cross train to multiple job roles
• Remain professional and respectful with coworkers, surgeons and other offices
• Ability to concentrate in a busy work environment with a focus on accuracy and timeliness
• Flexibility when needed
• Knowledge of medical terminology

Experience:

Surgical Scheduling: 1 year (preferred)

• Medical terminology: 1 year (preferred)

Ability to Relocate:

• Elkhart, IN 46514: Relocate before starting work (required)
