Duties:

As a PROGRAM MANAGER at the GS /14 some of your typical work assignments may include:

  • Serves as Program Manager responsible for coordinating readiness programs related to deployment and mission-related activities.
  • Ensures deployment readiness of the Agency's workforce is successful and identifies deployment requirements via applicable policies and procedures.
  • Develops strategies to lead the Agency's deployment information and education processes and associated staff guidance and direction in support of crisis response.
  • Takes initiative and leads in the planning and decision related to accomplishing the Branch's mission.
  • Provides expert knowledge to other staff members on the Agency's missions, strategies, and goals.
  • Collaborates with other staff sections for both individual and collective military readiness, training, and exercise participation.
  • Assists the Branch Chief in the overall oversight of the Branch functions synchronizing deployment readiness programs.
  • Anticipates, applies critical thinking and analysis of deployment and readiness programs and addresses gaps or critical shortfalls that may impact mission success.
  • Integrates all aspects of associated programs managed from other staff sections to produce a comprehensive Agency readiness program.
  • Prepares briefings for senior leaders on the use of vehicles, aviation assets, and other means of transportation to move deployable personnel to staging areas and points of debarkation.
  • Develops plans to move and track luggage and containers through military and commercial travel systems.
  • Authorizes resupply and retrograde of cargo and containers from overseas locations and briefs senior leaders on the disposition of those items back into the Agency.
  • Coordinates activities for the Agency Deployment Coordination Cell (DCC) to ensure that all aspects of travel are addressed in accordance with Department of Defense Instructions, Directives, and Policies.

  • Telework Eligibility: This position is eligible for situational telework
  • Must obtain and maintain a Top Secret Security Clearance based on a single scope background investigation with eligibility for Sensitive Compartmental Information (SCI).
  • Must have the ability to deploy and to travel on temporary duty orders 15% of the time CONUS/OCONUS.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid US passport.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid State driver's license.
  • Must be able to lift and load boxes and other items up to 40 lbs.

Qualifications:


  • You may qualify at the
    GS14, if you fulfill the following qualifications:
  • One year of specialized experience equivalent to the
    GS-13 grade level in the Federal service:
  • Developing strategies to lead deployment information and education processes in support of a crisis response;
  • Managing and developing deployment readiness policies, programs, and Agency guidance;
  • Evaluating plans, programs, and policies necessary to establish and maintain Joint and Combined activities;
  • Developing briefings on the use of vehicles, aviation assets, and other means of transportation to move deployable personnel to staging areas and points of debarkation;
  • Developing plans to move and track cargo and containers through military and commercial travel systems;
  • Ensuring that communication equipment is maintained in proper working order and completely functional;
  • Repairing and replacing damaged or lost items, maintaining accountability, and record keeping.
You may qualify at the
GS-13**, if you fulfill the following qualifications:

  • One year of specialized experience equivalent to the
    GS-12 grade level in the Federal service:
  • Assisting with serving as a manager responsible for coordinating personnel readiness programs related to deployment and other mission activities.
  • Assisting with deployment readiness and other requirements using applicable Department of Defense policies and procedures.
  • Assisting with managing deployment information and education processes in support of crisis response.
  • Assisting with briefing individuals and groups for realworld strategies, and goals.
  • Assisting with managing projects to completion and addressing critical shortfalls that may have an impact on mission success, and experience briefing senior leaders.
  • Assisting with the use of government vehicles, aviation assets, and other means of transportation to move deployable personnel to staging areas and points of debarkation.
