The Chair of Product Development and Construction Technology at the Institute of Construction Technology and Technical Design (IKTD) deals with topics such as digital product development, additive manufacturing, (sustainable) product architectures and modularization, development of smart product-service systems, as well as modern development methodologies.

Your task:
Changing mobility concepts lead to previously unknown challenges.

Following the trend of making products and systems more self-sufficient and autonomous, it will become increasingly important to focus on the relationship between users (humans) and systems in the development process, and consciously include individuals who are limited in their actions due to health or other conditions, in order to create a modern and inclusive society.

One of your tasks may be to scientifically develop a guide for "Design for Accessibility and Inclusion" in collaboration with application partners, as well as to test and implement initial concepts constructively and conceptually.

This includes developing interaction concepts that meet the requirements for accessibility and inclusion of mobility-impaired individuals in autonomous bus operations.

As of today, this involves actively participating in a broad consortium of industry representatives and research institutions.


In addition, we offer you the freedom to shape your research within the thematic focus of "Inclusive Design in Product Development" in coordination with us, and to initiate further projects in the field of appropriate product development methods.
