As an Airport Planner, you will:
  • Serve as a technical expert and project manager on airport master plans and facility planning
  • Be part of the Planning Department of the Office of Engineering at Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA) and Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD)
  • Provide technical expertise on capital facilities planning for airport development


RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Conduct planning studies based on stakeholder requirements, identifying scope, schedule, and cost
  • Provide technical advice and project management for Master Plans and comprehensive planning studies
  • Offer technical analysis and advice on airfield issues and FAA standards
  • Translate general goals of Master Plans into specific design guidelines
  • Prepare airspace planning and analysis considering navigational surfaces
  • Develop policy recommendations for airport operation and master planning
  • Use data analysis and computer simulations for planning and feasibility studies
  • Prepare budgets and recommend future projects
  • Collaborate with partners on land use planning and airport compatibility

ADDITIONAL TASKS
  • Advise on airport roadways, public and commercial curbs, and wayfinding
  • Monitor parking issues and recommend solutions
  • Address Dulles Toll Road capacity and safety
  • Prepare reports on air and ground transportation planning
  • Assist in design and construction-related tasks
  • Act as a Contracting Officer's Technical Representative
  • Support cross-functional collaboration and other assigned duties
