POSITION OVERVIEW:
Supports the Corporate Finance Department with its monthly and annual accounting responsibilities as assigned.

MAJOR/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Reports directly to the Controller in carrying out assigned accounting responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Assists in the preparation of consolidated internal and external financial statements by gathering and analyzing information from the general ledger system and from other departments.
Acts as backup to the Accounts Payable function and all its related duties
Acts as backup to Fixed Asset function and all its related duties
Acts as backup to daily Cash Management function and all its related duties.
Maintains and balances an automated consolidation system by inputting data.
Prepares general ledger entries by maintaining records and files; reconciling accounts.
Develops and implements accounting procedures by analyzing current procedures; recommending changes.
Answers accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data.
Accomplish accounting and organization mission by completing related results as needed.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

Job Requirements:

Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Meet expected deadlines regarding month-end close.
General knowledge of basic accounting practices.
General knowledge of accounting software.
Precise data entry skills.
PC proficiency.
Excellent customer services and communication skills.
Ability to analyze information.

Education and Experience:

Associates degree in accounting or a related field of study is required.
Prior experience with accounting, accounts payable (AP), or accounts receivable (AR) is required.
Experience working with accounting software required.
