"The German Railway is one of the most diverse employers in Germany. Every year, we are looking for over 5,000 apprentices in 50 different professions who want to grow and improve with us.

Starting on September 1st, 2024, we are looking for you to join our 3.5-year apprenticeship program as an Industrial Mechanic (m/f/d) for DB Cargo AG at our location in Halle (Saale). The vocational school and training workshop are located in Dessau.
What to expect in your workshop apprenticeship:
  • You will become an expert in the maintenance, servicing, and repair of our freight trains and wagons, such as replacing brake blocks and brakes or fixing damage to the wheels
  • Metalworking with tools and machines – including turning, welding, drilling, and milling
  • Workplace safety and quality assurance
  • You will ensure that our freight locomotives and wagons are always ready for use
Your profile:
  • You have successfully completed (or will soon complete) your education
  • Your knowledge of math and physics is particularly strong
  • You have manual dexterity and enjoy tinkering in your free time
  • You enjoy working in a team
  • Your committed, careful, and reliable work ethic sets you apart
