Executive Staff
- Salary range: $64, $70, THIS POSITION MAY BE ELIGIBLE FOR REMOTE WORK FOR UP TO 2 DAYS PER WEEK, PURSUANT TO THE REMOTE WORK PILOT PROGRAM.
- Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Manage demanding calendars for the Commissioner and other Executive Office staff;
- Compose and prepare confidential correspondence;
- Arrange travel plans, itineraries, and agendas;
- Work closely with the Chief of Staff to manage and coordinate direct access to Commissioner's time and office;
- Prepare reports and/or special projects, which may include data collection, coordination, final copy preparation and distribution;
- Complete a broad variety of administrative tasks that facilitate the Commissioner's ability to effectively lead the agency;
- Take and organize minutes and notes at certain meetings to share with the Executive Office staff;
- Support the Chief of Staff in various agencywide projects, including those related to the Agency Engagement Committee;
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders and assisting with project management;
- Answer, screen, and route telephone calls using appropriate telephone etiquette;
- Organize and manage Commissioner contacts;
- Prepare and coordinate yearly mail and electronic mail correspondence on behalf of the Commissioner, and
- Keep the Commissioner well informed of upcoming commitments and responsibilities, following up appropriately.
Preferred Skills- Ability to incorporate creative approaches to various projects by taking initiative and working independently. - Excellent communications skills both written and verbal. - Excellent organizational and multitasking skills. - Extremely detail oriented and organized. - Bilingual a plus.

- Residency RequirementNew York City residency is generally required within 90 days of appointment.
However, City Employees in certain titles who have worked for the City for 2 continuous years may also be eligible to reside in Nassau, Suffolk, Putnam, Westchester, Rockland, or Orange County.
