Our client is an influential association that brings together research and businesses in West Chicago, IL. By organizing year-round committees and hosting the largest European conference every two years, the association actively promotes professional exchange.

The management of the office plays a key role in driving the transformation of the association, representing stakeholders, and implementing strategic goals in the areas of business planning, cost control, and event coordination.


Responsibilities:

  • Representing the association with a focus on members, businesses, associations, and universities
  • Leading, shaping, and coordinating the office
  • Actively recruiting members and soliciting donations for financial support
  • Initiating collaborations in the business environment
  • Continuously transforming the association into a modern organization
  • Managing a team of 45 employees
  • Developing and implementing business plans based on strategic guidelines (35 year mediumterm planning)
  • Cost control for efficient resource utilization
  • Coordinating 10 conferences per year and a large conference every two years
  • Leading organizing committees for successful event execution
  • Coordinating editorial work for print and digital media to optimize the visibility of the association
  • Expanding the association's positioning in the European mining and metallurgical industry

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree or diploma in business administration, alternatively in process engineering, mechanical engineering, or metallurgy with a strong affinity for business management
  • Experience in leading associations, organizations, or technical companies, ideally in a chemical/metallurgical production environment
