The Harris Center for Mental Health and IDD ("The HARRIS CENTER") is looking for a Consumer Services Assistant to join our IDD team. Under the direction of the program director and team leader, this position is responsible for producing, reviewing, entering data, and maintaining various program information. This position also performs tracking activities and duties related to the organization of data, data entry, and other office support activities. Resolves consumer issues by phone, forward calls to appropriate staff as required, notify staff of issues, and contact the family and/or staff persons regarding identified errors as appropriate.


Your role in Action:


  • Maintains records, receives and prepares verification of documents.
  • Codes and files documents in the unit's file system.
  • Responds to routine office support work such as keyboarding, filing, photocopying or
- transmitting information by fax.

  • Provides receptionist services.
  • Prepares reports and other assigned tasks as indicated by the unit supervisor.
  • Demonstrates sensitivity to the cultural diversity of consumers, family members, visitors and fellow employees.
  • Attendance and punctuality is satisfactory.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

What qualifications you will need:


Education:


  • High School Diploma or GED

Experience:


  • Two (2) years general office experience or Associate degree with at least one (1) year of general office experience.

Other Key Qualifications:


  • Must maintain a valid Texas Driver's License and be insurable under Agency policy. Cellular telephone, laptop, are provided and must be properly maintained.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:


  • Must be able to demonstrate advanced computer skills including data entry, word processing and spreadsheets.
  • Must have the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize work.
  • Must have the ability to work independently.
  • Must demonstrate the use of independent judgment or functioning in prior positions.
